After a slow start to the year we, at Menorca Gold have had another very busy summer, partly or mainly due to the poor summer in England! So many of you did a last minute rush, and booked at the last minute in the hope of some sunshine before the Autumn sets in! Thankfully the lovely weather held on.
Menorca has had a wonderful summer despite a poor start in May and the virtually unbroken sunshine has been there ever since.
Some of you find the heat a bit too much in July and August and with fietstas nearly every weekend, it is a bit crazy; so now is the time to come and wind down and enjoy some peace and relaxation.
We still have the Mahon fiestas on 8th September and Calen Porter being the last fiesta after that. But sit and watch the world go by in one of the cafes along the port or enjoy a splash in the sea as its stays warm long after the swimming pools start to cool down.
Well my latest visit to
I was however lucky enough to be offered one of our two bedroom villas by the owner as a base for me to undertake my next mammoth task of checking and visiting the properties that Gemma had listed for me on this trip. V094 is a gorgeous and tranquil villa with quirky touches that captures the imagination the moment you walk through the door. It had every convenience and the presentation is of the highest quality. I am most obliged to this owner for allowing me into her home from home for a week.
Hi All
Gemma has asked me to write some ‘blog’ for the website – well call me old fashioned but I’ve never heard of ‘blog’ and as good old Terry Wogan would say “……is it me?” Still I suppose we all need to move with the times and so I thought I’d tell you all about my recent trip to the wonderful island of Menorca in ‘blog’ speak.
I saw 22 properties all in all and got to meet quite a few owners during my stay which was great, a nice coffee here and a glass of wine there – the hospitality was very much appreciated. I saw a wonderful variety of villas and apartments from rambling, antique filled gorgeous farmhouses to a state of the art new villa that just took your breath away.
Well, as promised, this trip was a hot one! Most mornings the temperature was up to the late 20s by 10am (perfect with cafe con leche and a croissant I found) and into the mid 30s consistently every afternoon. With a lovely breeze, the weather was perfect. I had lots of new properties to see and photos to take so our brochure will be expanding for next season! This also means we have new properties on our books with dates free for this summer, so check out our New and Special Offers sections!
Hello again! Well, I got a bit of a shock to the system for my April trip - it rained! Apparently there were a couple of weeks of fairly persistent rain in Menorca over Easter which was very unseasonal and in the meantime, the UK was baking. But the weather changed as soon as I came home (typical) and was up to 28 degrees as I was landing in Luton!
This trip we discovered a great new tapas bar on the main drag in Mahon, but tucked around the corner from most of the shops.
