Hello again! Well, I got a bit of a shock to the system for my April trip - it rained! Apparently there were a couple of weeks of fairly persistent rain in Menorca over Easter which was very unseasonal and in the meantime, the UK was baking. But the weather changed as soon as I came home (typical) and was up to 28 degrees as I was landing in Luton!
This trip we discovered a great new tapas bar on the main drag in Mahon, but tucked around the corner from most of the shops.
Next, we took a trip to Truvi, the big garden centre on the way to Son Bou. There are loads of lovely plants there of course, but some nice gifty-type things too. And best of all, a kids playground which Ella tested out and really enjoyed. Even better, there is a coffee area just close by so you can relax with a coffee and watch the kids rather than hang around next to the swings like a spare part. They have a free-range parrot which takes great delight in shouting 'Hola' at anyone passing and sounds very convincing!

My main hobby in Menorca when I'm not taking photos or seeing new places (of which I did plenty of both again this trip), is a visit to the Jaime Mascaro shoe factory - yum! I bought some very beautiful and highly impractical (the best sort!) red satin peep toe shoes and some much more sensible pumps. I thoroughly recommend a trip to anyone visiting the island, it's on the main road between Mahon and Cuitadella, close to Ferreries. We get nearly all Ella's shoes here and they have a great choice for kids, made from really soft leather. Well, that's it for this visit, back again in June when it will be hot, hot, hot! See you soon. Gemma
